Organization Overview:

Adopt America Network (AAN) is a nonprofit organization that connects children waiting in foster care with permanent families while providing support before, during, and after the family is united. AAN was founded in 1983 by Richard K. Ransom, who was the founder of Hickory Farms and dedicated his life to helping children. Within this time, we have placed over 4,700 children with permanent families. Today, we provide matching services for families along with support groups and events catered to adoptive, kinship, and foster families. Additionally, we operate a child-focused recruitment program for children in Northwest Ohio along with a state-wide home assessor program for public and private agencies.
