Experience Coordinator – Training & Scheduling Lead

Description

This full-time position reports to the Experience Manager and is responsible for overseeing the floor team and providing a welcoming and engaging experience for all visitors. This position is responsible for preparing the Experience Team to deliver the best possible experience to our visitors. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, training Experience Team to deliver engaging and scientifically accurate demonstrations, certifying Team on attractions, providing enrichment activities and developing engagement strategies for Team in the learning worlds. Overall, ensuring a high-quality visitor experience at Imagination Station

 

As a team, the Experience Coordinators ensure the smooth daily operation of the IST experiences, including safety protocols and coordination of experience programs.  Experience Coordinators work together to support positive experiences. Ideal Experience Coordinators are curious and playful people who enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds and who thrive in a team setting.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Become certified in all shows and demonstrations.
  • Train new team members on attractions and demonstrations until certified.
  • Develop and maintain training plan and expectation goals for team training
  • Oversee birthday party operations, purchasing, and ensure a high-quality experience.
  • Handle call-offs and no-shows each morning, adjusting the floor plan accordingly.
  • Purchasing and maintaining supplies for demonstrations and activities.
  • Oversee experience team rotations, covering breaks and assisting in various areas as needed.
  • Address and resolve visitor issues promptly and professionally. 
  • Troubleshoot areas of concern during high traffic periods.
  • Deliver group welcome greetings and manage lunch bin logistics for visiting school groups.
  • Conclude the day by ensuring all learning worlds are prepared for the next day.
  • Assist with lost or sick children, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Plan and execute activities to help with high traffic areas on busy school group days.
  • Provide daily updates to the Experience Manager or TMOD as necessary.
  • Act as a positive role model for the team. 
  • Coordinate team interactions with visitors to provide the best visitor experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Availability for both weekday and weekend hours. Flexibility required.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Skilled in handling conflict with team members and visitors.
  • Capability to work independently as needed.
  • Basic understanding of the Experience Team's requirements.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred. Training & Scheduling experience required.
  • Ability to work in a crowded noisy atmosphere, standing and/or walking for an entire shift. 
  • Ability to maintain focus during very busy periods and coordinate many functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 30 pounds.
