We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly driven person to join our growing Project Cost Accounting team.  This role will work closely with project managers, the accounting, and other departments to complete project and budget set up, analyze financial data, monitor project costs and support the successful completion of projects.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the project team to set up projects and budgets in accounting software.
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure all project information is accurate within the system.
  • Review and maintain financial controls and document controls to ensure a high degree of quality and accuracy in project cost allocations.
  • Develop and maintain cost reports for accurate monthly reporting.
  • Conduct monthly cost reviews with project team to assist with job cost tracking, profitability projections and investigation of any variances.
  • Generate weekly equipment reports and process equipment charges appropriately.
  • Investigate and maintain internal equipment rates
  • Compile Ad Hoc reports per requests from various departments.
  • Raise awareness to potential issues, propose solutions to the team and promote implementation.
  • Review cost coding on employee timesheets and correct/set-up as appropriate.

 

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), especially MS Excel and with various other digital tools and platforms.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of personnel, internal and external.
  • Experienced facilitator able to respectfully challenge information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Great time management skills.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of construction accounting or manufacturing accounting.
